SUFFOLK
& CAMBS BORDER JUNIOR TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE
INFORMATION ![]()
Local Junior Leagues were set up to
provide young table tennis players with the opportunity to compete in a league
against other young players of a similar standard. Leagues are being organized
throughout the country as part of a major development initiative in this
sociable and easy to learn sport.
Successful teams in the local
leagues can progress into the National Junior League and then the British
National League, or into local Senior Leagues.
This is a good competitive sport
that can be played equally well by both boys and girls, in a safe and
comfortable environment
Players should be between 10 – 17
years old but particularly talented younger players are welcome.
Two players make a team – if they
both attend the same school, or youth club, scout group etc. they can represent
that organization. They can, however be totally independent of any organization
and can select any name they wish for their “team”. However it is important
they have an adult, a parent or a teacher, to organize their team.
They can of course belong to a table tennis club where
they will receive coaching from qualified coaches.
Our particular League covers the
West Suffolk and East Cambridgeshire area and any teams from within this area
are welcome, the League has now been running for 7 years and is always looking
to expand. All matches are played at King Edward Upper School in Bury St
Edmunds.(For directions

will also be an individual tournament and presentation evening at the end of
